If you don’t think workplace violence is a real issue, you
- never worked in Human Resources and haven’t had to deliver bad news.
- don’t read the news.
Here are just a few items from the news, this month:
- Georgia Car Dealer Admits To Shooting His Only 2 Employees Citing Financial Problems, Police Say
- Grudge led man to smash Jeep into ex-colleague
- Co-workers can’t tell who will snap
There is no advice that I can give you beyond: be safe, use common sense, don’t assume someone else will talk to the sad guy in the office, always have an exit strategy to get the hell out of your building, and work closely with a manager or another leader at your company if you suspect something is wrong with a colleague.
