F@%k It Friday: Taxes

I read that 47% of households don’t pay federal income tax, most Americans got a tax cut in 2009, and most Americans’ tax bills are lower.

Although 47% of Americans don’t pay federal income tax, nearly 100% of Americans have an opinion. Most of my conservative friends find April 15th to be a day of national mourning. Tons of complaining. They don’t want to pay for health care, abortions for illegal immigrants, repairs in crumbling public schools, food stamps for the lazy, or public housing for ugly people.

I am one of those losers who pays federal and state income tax. I have my own list of things I don’t want to pay for and it goes something like this.

  • Faith-based initiatives
  • The war on drugs
  • Any crappy war
  • Farm subsidies
  • Ethanol subsidies and R&D
  • Enforcement of the Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell policy
  • Corporate welfare

Give me your list and give me your thoughts on taxes. I can take it.
