Uno. War. Spoons. Crazy Eights. Go Fish. Bridge. Poker. Canasta. Pinochle. Hearts. Old Maid. Solitaire. Whatever.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how many people invite me over for dinner and then want to break out the card table and a deck of playing cards.
– How about a game of gin rummy?
– How about I stick a hot poker in my eye.
I know that families bond over card games. Stories are traded. Memories are made. I remember how much my grandmother liked to play cards and it’s a nice memory of watching someone waste a lot of time.
