F@%k It Friday: Internet Animals

A few weeks ago, I started to rank my favorite internet animals.

Leaving cats and dogs out of it for a second…

[and I'm not sure that is entirely possible]

…I have a specific list of animals I enjoy seeing on the web.

  1. Otters
  2. Squirrels
  3. Baby Goats
  4. Chipmunks
  5. Piglets
  6. Hedgehogs
  7. Bunnies
  8. Hummingbirds
  9. Hippos
  10. Baby elephants

Might be the most random list I’ve ever created. Note: there is no sloth on this list.

What’s on yours?

honey badgers don’t care if they’re on the list or not. Honey badgers don’t give a . . . flip.

Since one of my fave fantasies is that I will retire to raise goats in Eastern Wyoming…GOATS! You just have to smile when you see them.

Nice list, but I would replace hummingbirds with “any animal that suddenly faints when startled or excited”. I think I’ve watched that fainting goats video about a dozen times. As for the fainting kittens…I’m normally a dog person, but I’d do anything to have one of those, in part to see my dog’s reaction when the thing falls to the floor every time she comes near.

I would have to go with SQUIRRELS as well! (obviously squirrels follow cats and dogs), following squirrels would be dolphins!!

Squirrels are far more intelligent than people give them credit for, I could watch them for hours!

wait, there’s a fainting goat video? I need to look this up.
I LOVE animals – cats and dogs more than anything – BUT since I can’t choose kittens and puppies. I do also love squirrels, otters, chipmunks, and monkeys. Especially monkeys behaving badly. :)

I think all BABY animals are so cute. Where we live we have these tiny little tree frogs that hang out in our pond/waterfall. Some of them are about the size of a dime. Sometimes when it’s cold they try and hop into the house when I let the dogs out…I capture them and put them back outside on a rock. They are pretty darn cute even tho they have no fur and aren’t cuddly like a dog or cat…or squirrel.

Laurie, can I ask why this list specifically does not include sloths?

They are definitely on my list, as are monkeys – in particular, a recent newscast about drunk monkeys who steal beverages at resorts in Jamaica.

I like sloths fine but I’m not sloth-crazy.

I love those meer-cats too! (Spelling) But honestly, I can’t choose or rank them. They all melt my ice-cold, bitter, corporate heart.

The only thing I can’t look at is snakes. For the love of gawd, keep those things off my screen.

Reply

Laurie March 3, 2012 at 10:36 am

Poor snakes. They only get love from weird people.

My favorite baby animal ever is a baby snake. Tiny head, BIG EYES.

What about the anti-list? If you ask me this thread is discriminatory. Even mean and ugly creatures need love – ask your nearest Java coder.

1) Cockroaches
2) Wasps
3) Sea cucumbers
4) Squid
5) Those deep ocean trench fish that look like Sarah Jessica Parker (just a personal opinion there)
6) Beavers

And you don’t want these as co-workers: http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/world-ugliest-animals-gallery-1.26295
