HR & Vegas: Are You Talking to Me, Punk?

Dudes, here is some punk rock advice:

  • When a taxi driver in Las Vegas asks if you have political connections, the best answer to give is no.

To make a long story short, I left a taxi and told the driver, “You really ought to stop bothering your customers and call your Congressman if you’re that mad.”

Why do I have to be the world’s HR generalist and solve every freakin’ problem?

More stories about the Talent Summit after I get another margarita in my belly. I do want to give a shout-out to Herman Miller (yeah, Michigan in the hizzouse) whose HR team presented great diversity & inclusion information at the conference. It’s always an interesting challenge to talk about diversity & inclusion with a homogeneous audience of HR pros. I am not saying the room was filled with a bunch of white people; however, I am saying that you couldn’t take us skiing because we’d get lost in the snow.
