Dudes, what a week. Does anyone have good news? Did you hire someone? Find a job? Win the lottery? Give a killer presentation? I need to read something positive. Leave a comment and I’ll pick someone to win a copy of The Essential HR Handbook.
It’s essential, people. (Thanks to Sharon Armstrong for sending it to me.)
Here are my weekly shout outs, by the way.
- Jason Seiden lists mistakes that job seekers make. There is video from FOX Chicago. Nice!
- Ask a Manager gives us The You-Suck-As-An-Interviewer Automatic Letter Generator ® — and I fully endorse it. Interviewed for a job and then never heard back? No rejection, no anything? Let your interviewer know how rude that is — without burning any bridges.
- Kris Dunn over at The HR Capitalist really likes Panera Bread. It’s the #1 place where I eat when Ken is out of town, and I love the soup.
- Michael over at Human Race Horses recommends that you sum yourself up in three words. I don’t believe in elevator speeches, but I like this concept. [My three words? I love Scrubby.]
Most importantly, Renegade HR and I did a podcast on the future of Human Resources. I really think Chris is an up & coming star in the world of Human Resources. I am a dork, but he has some thoughtful and smart insights on why HR Generalists are still relevant. Listen here.
