Michael Goldberg is a pal of mine via Twitter, and we met for the first time — face-to-face — at the Kennedy Conference on Wednesday. That’s always so fun!
We talked about the definition of talent, what makes a good employee, and whether it’s okay to hire an employee who is competent but totally disinterested in the mission and vision of your organization (I say yes).
I told Michael that I think it’s okay to hire chumps. He asked, “How many chumps? What’s your ideal champ versus chump ratio?”
I didn’t have a number because I was so blown away by the awesomeness of the question.
So I ask you — do you have an ideal champ versus chump ratio? What is it?
