Wealth Inequality

The wealth inequality video is good. So good. I’m glad it’s gone viral.

But are people shocked by it?

The video asks us to wake up and see the reality. I think we see it. Our ongoing response to wealth inequality is what makes this video so sad. We seem to believe there are only two false choices: spend more taxpayer money or empower a deregulated market.

Is that it? More government or more corporations? We are still a country of oligarchs either way.

I wonder:

  • What do you think about wealth inequality?
  • Can you still “make it” in America?
  • Does it matter if the marketplace is fair as long as it’s free from hegemonic domination by the government?
  • Where do social issues come to play in wealth inequality?

You sit at the intersection of work, power, politics and money. What do you think about this video?
