Bad news, dudes.
- America lost over 71,000 jobs on Monday.
- CNN reports that we’ve lost over 207,000 jobs in 2009 — and we’re not even done with January.
- It’s earnings season, and more job cuts are likely.
Everything we know about capitalism is changing, and you are no longer in charge of your future. Your employment depends on an algorithm that you cannot control, and your fate will be determined by a faceless, nameless ‘selection committee’ that is ranking you on factors that are out of your hands.
Instead of freaking out, I suggest that you get some perspective.
- Don’t rush to work,
- enjoy a long lunch,
- and leave the office at a decent time.
If you do anything, please fight against the emotional state-of-affairs in your workplace.
